Willie Nelson, 85, knows one or two things about country music and life.
He created more than his good part of timeless and moving ballads. Now you can add another to that awesome list. This, "It gets easier", has become everyone's favorite song, from Willie's popular album, "God's Problem Child".
Nelson tackles the idea of growing old in this melodious melody and his style. With his guitar Activation by his side and tossed by a traditional honky-tonk arrangement, including a slide guitar, an organ and even an accordion, Nelson's simple composition with the famous producer Buddy Cannon brings the poignant lyrics of the song to life:
"It gets easier as we get older. It becomes easier to say" not today ". It gets easier when we get older, we say" go, not today. "I don't have to do a damn thing I don't want to do if I don't miss you. It will be easier to say "at another time". It is easier to tell the world to wait. It is easier to see the world fly and say, "I will succeed, but not today." I don't have to do something I don't want to do. do, except I miss you and it won't go away ... "
In fact, Willie Nelson continues to improve more and more. "He's a born troubadour," said producer Cannon. "That primitive genius that was him and his songs is still there. ... It's like Willie says: he thinks he and his guitar [Trigger] will break at the same time."
"We have a system that works," Nelson told Rolling Stone. "I write a verse and he will write a verse and the next thing you know is that we have completed a song. Then we get a melody, and go to the studio with a band to record and put your voice there. Then, when I get the chance , going to Studio and recording my voice, over the years, we have released four or five albums, it was very easy to do it that way ". Obviously, Willie can make it look easy and effortless.
The black and white video opens with a shot of blades of grass blowing gently in the wind and the sun on the horizon. Outdoor scenes intertwine with images of Nelson sitting in a recording studio before a microphone, singing the song softly with his elastic signature, are unnecessary without unnecessary frills to improve their weak voice around the edges. This is just pure Willie Nelson.
"We have no plans to make a concept album or anything," said Cannon Mikal Gilmore music journalist in an essay for the album should be published on Nelson's website "but it turned out well."
Nelson conveys a sense of freedom that comes with age and the inevitable challenges we face: "I have to do nothing / I want to do / Except you miss / And who won" don't go ...
